SEL Elementary Book Club

Integrating SEL into literacy, books can serve as anchors to important universal lessons and themes that align to SEL. This book club fosters a collaborative community of K-5 educators where read aloud books and literacy lessons/activities that support SEL in classrooms are shared amongst the group. This book club also has the option for participating teachers in ROE 8 region to invite the SEL Specialist into their classrooms as a guest reader and share an interactive learning experience with students focused on an SEL skill anchored in a shared read-aloud and activity. Registration for this book club will remain open until May 6, 2025 to allow for individuals to register for any or all of the book club meetings throughout this school year, but individuals must register at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting date(s) they plan to attend. This book club will meet virtually (Google Meet) once a month for one hour (3:30-4:30pm) on the following dates: Oct. 2, Nov. 6, Dec. 4, Jan. 15, Feb. 5, Mar. 5, Apr. 2, May 7 Registered participants will earn 1 PD hour for each book club meeting attended (up to 8 PD hours total).
